We would all love free gas. But realistically, what would you consider a fair price for a gallon of gasoline?

I voted $3 but in all honesty it will be whatever the market will bear. Unlikely we will we ever see $3 a gallon again. In fact the only way it will stay near it's present level is if production is increased at the same level as demand. With India and China devouring more and more every day and we here in the US not allowing nukes or the attainment of our own oil we can look forward to worse before better. Even at $4.19 gas is still cheaper than bottled water, milk, soda, and a multitude of other products much easier to attain and get to market than oil.
