What (if any) energy saving projects have you done with your home or automobiles?

I set my thermostat to a higher temperature this summer and sealed cracks in door and window frames. I switched light bulbs to compact fluorescents, and made sure lights and other appliances were turned off when not in use. We saved over $1200 from May through October in 2008 as compared to 2009, and energy prices actually went up.
You really do get used to the warmer temperatures and it wasn't a problem. We'll see how I can handle the cold this winter.

Nice job! You really can make a difference in your energy use if you put in a little effort!

Hah, DH was home this weekend (works out of town) and I followed him around the entire time turning out lights. We have also saved about $2400 on gasoline since June by selling his pick up and buying a (used) 4 cylinder Toyota Corolla (paid cash). However, in looking back, I wish we had bought the car and kept the pickup. They come in handy.

I wish that we had a small truck also! I'm getting tired of needing to borrow my FIL's truck when I need to transport buly items.

At home, I clean or replace air filters. Replace filters on exhaust hoods, humidifiers, vacuums, etc. Clogged filters impair performance and cause the units to run longer.
