Hi! I found this place when checking for information on getting negative remarks taken off of my credit report. My wife and I missed a payment by sheer forgetfulness and I was notified by Freecreditreport.com that negative information was posted on my reports. I drafted a Letter of Goodwill per the suggestions from this blog and I got a response from the company by phone. They took care of it for me and I once again have sparkling credit! Do you guys ever have guest bloggers? I don't really blog very much, only when I feel really inspired. I went to Las Vegas last weekend and felt inspired by the way I was treated when listening to a time-share sales pitch-for-free-gifts scam. I detailed the experience in my blog, countcracula.blogspot.comI now feel like a champion of time-share-pitch-fu and I can stand up to any questionable tactics in order to get free stuff.

Justin,
Thanks for joining up and welcome to the forum!
I'm glad that my suggestion for writting a letter of goodwill helped you get that negative tradeline removed from your report!
I would be more than happy to have you write a guest post for my blog if you want to! (as long as it was appropriate for the site!)
LOL, i know what you mean about questionable sales tactics when it comes to time share salesmen and women! They can become incredibly pushy!
So I take it you didn't buy it!

No we didn't buy anything from the time share people. My wife and I were convinced to just sit through one for the promise of $100 free gambling chips each. It was also supposed to be easy to say no, but of course, it wasn't easy. Lots of fuzzy math was used.
We got our money though, after a big pain in the rear.
I have been considering writing some things up, but I'm no finance expert. What I've realized lately is the power of politeness. I've been wanting to create a guide to being polite in the business world as a means to an end. I get pregnant doged at a lot in my job by customers, but the ones who are pleasant to deal with, even in stressful situations, get more attention and a better level of service. Not to say that I don't try to treat everyone equally, but I have a harder time going out of my way for someone who is acting like a hardass or being belligerent. I have a theory that being polite can get a person better treatment and better results than being tough and loud.
What do you think about that?
(by the way, I always fail the captcha check at least once, I don't know if it's buggy or just me not typing correctly)

I think you are right. Especially when it comes to customer service situations. Politeness and positive thinking are two very valuable tools!
Not sure about the captcha problem you are having! SOrry about that!
